Your web browser will cache the files from the application so that they do not have to be downloaded each time you use it. Occasionally these files can become out of date. Follow the steps below to empty the cache and fetch the latest files from our server.
Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge (Windows):
- Press Ctrl+F5. If that doesn’t work, try Shift+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R.
Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox (Mac):
- Press Shift+Command+R.
Safari (Mac):
- Unfortunately, there’s no simple keyboard shortcut for a hard refresh in Safari. However, you can empty the cache by pressing Command+Option+E, and then hold down Shift while clicking the Reload button in the toolbar.
Safari (iPhone and iPad):
- There’s no direct shortcut for a cache refresh. You’ll need to go into settings to clear your browser’s cache.
Private Browsing Window
You can also use a private browsing window. As this window is private, it will force a fresh download of the latest version of the application.
Desktop Browsers
Here's how you can open a private browsing window in the major desktop browsers:
Google Chrome:
- Open Chrome.
- Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner.
- Select "New Incognito Window" from the drop-down menu.
- Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut `Ctrl + Shift + N` (or `Command + Shift + N` on Mac).
Mozilla Firefox:
- Open Firefox.
- Click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
- Select "New Private Window" from the drop-down menu.
- Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut `Ctrl + Shift + P` (or `Command + Shift + P` on Mac).
Microsoft Edge:
- Open Edge.
- Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner.
- Select "New InPrivate Window" from the drop-down menu.
- Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut `Ctrl + Shift + P`.
Safari:
- Open Safari.
- Go to File > New Private Window.
- Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut `Command + Shift + N.
Opera:
- Open Opera.
- Click on the Menu from the top-left corner.
- Select "New Private Window" from the list.
- Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut `Ctrl + Shift + N` (or `Command + Shift + N` on Mac).
Mobile Browsers
Here's how you can open a private browsing window in the major mobile browsers:
Google Chrome:
- Open the Chrome app on your Android phone or tablet.
- To the right of the address bar, tap More (three vertical dots).
- Select "New Incognito Tab" from the list.
Mozilla Firefox:
- Open the Firefox app on your Android phone or tablet.
- On the Firefox home screen, tap the mask button at the top of the screen to switch to Private Browsing.
Microsoft Edge:
- Open the Edge app on your Android phone or tablet.
- To the right of the address bar, tap More (three horizontal dots).
- Select "New InPrivate Tab" from the list.
Safari:
- Open the Safari app on your iPhone.
- Tap the tabs icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap Private in the bottom-left corner.
- Tap the plus sign (+) at the bottom to open a new tab.
Opera:
- Open the Opera app on your Android phone or tablet.
- Tap the tabs icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap Private Mode in the upper-right corner.
Advanced Methods
There are also more advanced methods to manually clear the cache. The instructions on how to do this for the major browsers are listed below:
For Safari on MacOS, Go to Safari > Empty Cache, or hit ⌘ Command+⌥ Option+E. To refresh, click the refresh button on the addressbar or press ⌘ Command+R.
If you are using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your web browser on a desktop, you can follow the steps below:
- Ensure you are using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your web browser.
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + I to bring up the Developer Tools.
- Right click on the reload button, select Clear Cache, and Hard Reload.
